City, the city pave way to its limelight’s through the annual festival the Kadayawan
Festival.
Kadayawan derives from the friendly greeting “Madayaw”, from the Dabawenyo word
“dayaw”, meaning good, valuable, superior or beautiful. The festival is a
celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of
culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living.
Interesting
to know, the festival gives way to both local and foreign tourists to know
Davao more. Yearly, they incorporate tradition and culture to the Kadayawan
Festival for every tourist to be amazed and mesmerize how Filipinos party. The Kadayawan
Festival is held every third week of August.
