Buyboy or Tiger grass commonly grows in cool climate, adjacent to my beloved hometown tiger grass or locally called "buyboy" are abundant and since then whenever they had fiesta/festival they called it Buyboy Festival of the town Burgos in the province of La Union. Nevertheless, their buyboy is different from among others since they had dye it into many colors making it bright, colorful and attractive to the eyes of locals and visitors.

Featured on my blog today is not the Buyboy Festival of Burgos in the Province of La Union. It is the town fiesta of San Clemente, Tarlac called Buyboy Festival. The Festival was started in the year 2008 by the Sadiri ti Pigilan Foundation, Inc. is an event to promote the San Clemente's quality brooms (walis tambo) and buyboy home ornaments along with other handicrafts made of indigenous forest materials such as "runo" (another variety of wild grass stem) and "nito" (a vriety of wild vine).

In Sitio Dueg, Barangay Maasin in the town of San Clemente, Tarlac where it  was  first sprouted. It was introduced by migrated Igorots from Benguet. Since then it became the "One Town - One Product - OTOP" of the town.

Now, in it's fifth year of the Buyboy Festival comes a wide variety of activities joined in the merriment of the town as well as to promote their local products and handicrafts that are locally made.
