August 20-21, 2012 declared as Philippine Regular Holiday and Special Non-working day.

August 20, 2012 was officially declared as regular holiday to promote cultural understanding and integration, that the entire nation should have the full opportunity to join Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Ftr (Feast of Ramadhan) - Proclamation 455, s. 2012.

And in addition to that August 21, 2012 (Ninoy Aquino Day) is national non-working holiday observed annually, commemorating the anniversary of the 1983 assassination of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr..
