Benguet's month-long activities in celebration of Adivay on the province’s 111th founding anniversary starts from October 14 - November 26. Benguet founding anniversary
is on November 23 which was declared by Malacañang as special
non-working holiday for the whole province.
For this year’s Adivay, which means coming together of people to celebrate, Benguet adopts the theme: 'Exploring Benguet's Best.' Adivay is also a good opportunity for Benguet to promote its product as after all the province is one of
the country’s major sources of temperate vegetables and metal
requirements such as gold and silver.
A festival parade and Benguet Tourism Day is also scheduled on the 19th which will be followed by drum & lyre and street dancing competition.
For
the month- long celebration of Adivay, among the scheduled activities
are: the search for Mr. and Ms. Benguet; Little Mr. & Miss Adivay; Dongba ni
Kavajo (horse); Jobs Fair; Inter-LGU sports competition and
many more scheduled events which both locals and tourists will surely
enjoy.
