Boracay: World's 4th Best Island, Travel + Leisure

Prestigious American travel magazine Travel + Leisure named Boracay the 4th Best Island in the world in their 16th annual “World’s Best Awards,” reports Manila Bulletin.

On the magazine’s Top 10 Best Islands list, Boracay Island in Aklan received a score of 89.83. Among the contenders top place went to Santorini, Greece, with a score of 90.61; Bali, Indonesia, was second with 90.45, and Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, was third with 89.9.

Travel + Leisure derived their results from readers’ votes, which were based on natural attractions, activities, sights, restaurants, people, and value.

And in 2012, Boracay was named the best island, not 4th, 3rd nor 2nd, but 1st... best overall in Asia according to Travel+ Leaisure’s World’s Best Awards 2012.

As long as you visit during dry season, you'll agree this is one of the best beach destinations in the world.
