24 June 2011, Special (Non-working) day in City of Manila

President Aquino on Friday (May 20, 2011) declared  June 24, 2011 as a special non-working day in Manila in commemoration of the 440th founding anniversary of the City of Manila.

Mr. Aquino signed Proclamation No. 175, which announced the holiday. The order was released by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES
PROCLAMATION NO. 175

DECLARING FRIDAY, 24 JUNE 2011 AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA

WHEREAS, Friday, 24 June 2011 marks the 440th Foundation Day anniversary of the City of Manila;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency,BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Friday, 24 June 2011 as a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 20th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eleven.
