The City Government of Baguio formally launched the opening of the 2011 Edition of Baguio Flower Festival which is also popularly known as the Panagbenga Festival.

The launching was led by Baguio City Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan at the City Hall grounds, follows by a press conference at the city hall and at the evening a free concert at the SM Event Center with a fireworks display. One of the highlights of the opening was the unveiling of the 16th Festival logo by Panagbenga Executive Committee Chairman Anthony de Leon and Federico Alquiroz. Guests and visitors were welcomed by cultural dances and performances, and the Baguio Metamorphosis graced the occasion by their magnificent dance moves.

The Festival theme this year is : “The Environment and Community in Harmony.”

The most colorful parts of the festival are the street dancing of hundreds of children draped in colorful flower costumes amidst the music of drum and bugle corps, and the flower float festival where several tons of fresh temperate flowers are used to add to the galore of the occasion.

Thanks to this post I now know the schedule of festivities. I haven't found a poster around Baguio just yet, or maybe I just don't go out of the house much. Haha!
