 It is called the Fernwood of Ilocos Sur province. It is one kilometer (1 km) away from the Heritage Site of Vigan City, the capital city of the Province, the Mel Sol's Inn & Resort is located along the national highway going to the northern part of the Philippines.

            The Mel Sol's  Inn & Resort caters around 20+ rooms, with air-conditioner, bathroom (hot & cold) and cabled television. The inn  and resort also have wireless-fidelity (wi-fi) access (yes, isn't it that cool, i think it is) for those travelers shared with pleasures and business. The rooms are very affordable too and comfy.

Young budding travelers like me with a techie junkie style whose passion is for adventure and fun, the inn and resort is a nice and interesting place for a stop over, if you’re a music lover there’s a band playing every night of weekends just beside the inn building which cater people who would like to relax and have a sip with a soothing effect of San Mig Light beer and jive with a dance music played by the band. The area also used for all occasions as I can see, from baptism, wedding, and etc.

Right after the area where music lounge is, an open air swimming pool one for adult (max. 6.5 ft) and for young children/kids ( max.3 ft.) and it was center divided with an over sided wall that may serve as jumping spot to which pool you decide to jump in. On the kids’ side, a semi twirl slide structure is attached to the side of the pool. The pool is surrounded by nice cottages around the pool made out of anahaw leaves and bamboo. They can even serve your breakfast and dinner right at the pool if you wanted. And after an awesome meal, you can take a plunge into the pool.

Another facilities the inn & resort offers located in the pool is videoke machine (coin operated) so be sure to have plenty of five denominations of coins. I enjoy my stay here with my friends. I've been here twice already.

How to Get to the Inn & Resort. Public Utility Buses such as Partas, Maria de Leon, Farinas, Viron, Florida bound for Manila - Laoag City or Manila - Vigan City can be passed this inn & resort, it's located along the national highway, ten minutes (10) minutes ride going to the Heritage City of Vigan and  five (5) minutes ride going to Bantay Bell Tower. Approximately 3-4 hours to Laoag City.
