It was yesterday October 16, 2011, held the kick-off ceremony of the week-long 2011 "Buahanan Festival" in Mambajao, Camiguin.

Visitors and local residents witnessed and enjoy the grand opening with its grand parade, where participants garbed in "lanzones" and other ethnic attires and costumes, the usual ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the Agro Industrial Trade Fair dubbed "UGMAD," which means "to cultivate" in the local dialect.

The Buahanan Festival, from the word "buahan" in the native language, is celebrated yearly for the bounty harvest of the province's sweet lanzones. This year's festival was the 32nd Lanzones Festival Celebration.
