The Longganisa Festival of Vigan City

It was colorful, lively and  most especially delicious, and I was there.

The Longganisa Festival of Vigan City, is week-long celebration and on January 22 was filled with fun and smiles. A sea of humanity patiently waited in the side roads to have a glimpsed on Longganisa streetdancing, in an extremely hot sunny afternoon. Street dancers are dressed in a colorful, mostly of silky clothed and some wears abel (traditional woven product of Ilocos). The street dancers showcase their creativeness and gracefulness with their alluring smiles in their faces that match with their dances along the streets of Vigan.

Actually, the colorful streetdancing and parade was the second part of the day’s event. In the morning, the Longanisa Cook Fest Showdown was held. The street is burning with the smell of my all time favorite sausage made only in the Philippines and Vigan City made it so scrumptious…yummy.

The theme of the celebration is all about longganisa. And oh, it should be in coordinated to Vigan City Saint Patron Saint Paul (San Pablo).

Started infront of Vigan City hall, the parade and streetdancing stretched to calle Quezon curved to Mena Crisologo street - the historic street of Vigan City. The facade, the stone wall, the baroque design old houses of Vigan.
