Basi Festival is held every first week of May to celebrate the sugar wine which is its namesake. The festival mainly promotes Basi as a local product and the usual activities include sports events, festive games, variety show, street fairs & foods and Miss Naguilian Basi 2011.
This year's festival theme, "Tattan Naguilian", "Tattan" an Ilocano (dialect) word denotes "Now", in English translation "Now Naguilian" and now is the time for all Naguilianons to act for true prosperity, unity, peace & order, environmental awareness and among other aspect towards a progressive town and eventually into cityhood.
The Rabii ti Umili (People's Night) enjoined by the municipal officials and employees, national and provincial agency personnels, educators, non-government organizations , indigenous people (IP), Bannuar, and all Naguilianons to have fun at the Naguilian plaza auditorium and aside from dancing a presentations will be held that will be adjudged. And at this time the Sadiri ti Naguilian which is the highest award to be given to Naguilianon for his/her excellence and dedication to serve the public will be awarded.
On the event of Miss Naguilian Basi 2011 that will be held on May 7 will have a twist joined with by sitio presentations from various barangays and public schools both elementary and high school in the form of competition.

How to Get in Naguilian, La Union:
Naguilian is located on the geographical center of the province of La Union, by the banks of the Bauang River. It is situated close to the central mountains and far away from the sea coast, on the scenic Bauang-Baguio City road which follows the route of an old foot trail from the coast of Benguet. Naguilian distance to Manila (267kms) and to San Fernando City, La Union (18kms), Baguio (25.25kms), Vigan (114.9 kms) and all accessible by public utility vehicles. Partas bus bound Baguio to Vigan or Laoag have daily trips that passes Naguilian.
